WCA Deal Report for December 20, 2024
- Little, Brown Books for Young Readers’ Susan Rich has acquired world rights to Mangeshig Pawis-Steckley’s THE TRICKSTER SHADOW. The picture book is described as the story of a child who draws on ancestral wisdom to master the dark side of his emotions. Publication is slated for Fall 2025. The deal was arranged by Jackie Kaiser at Westwood Creative Artists.
- Milky Way Picture Books’ Nadine Robert has acquired world rights to Victor D. Santos and Dena Seiferling’s THINGS I LEARNED FROM MY DOG. The picture book follows a boy’s transformative journey of growth and self-discovery, guided by the unconditional love and life lessons imparted by his scruffy and loyal dog Luna; combining humour, heartfelt moments, and universal truths, it is a timeless ode to the bond between humans and their pets. Publication is planned for June 2026. Jackie Kaiser at Westwood Creative Artists represented Dena Seiferling.
