I always knew I wanted to work with books—I just wasn’t sure how. I followed the idea of books through a BA in English Literature, but it was only after a brief stint in Library Sciences that I found my way to publishing. I had the absolute pleasure of interning at WCA during my final semester in Centennial College’s publishing certificate, and I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to the industry. Nowadays as office manager I have a front row seat to all of our goings-on: from assisting our wide range of talented authors to being the first in line to crack open boxes of their up-and-coming books, I have the privilege of seeing many aspects of the agency.

When I’m reading, I’m drawn to fiction and have a particular fondness for character-driven fantasy and understated contemporary. My favourites range from bone-chilling stories (pun intended) like Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir to quiet books like We Are Okay by Nina Lacour. Outside of reading, I roll dice (poorly) in tabletop games, herd cats, and continue to try and make the perfect cup of coffee one Chemex filter at a time.
