- Associate professor of global development studies at Queen’s University Rebecca Jane Hall‘s LIFE TIME: CARE UNDER THE CLOCK, weaving research on care under capitalism with a narrative of the author’s experience balancing her work as a professor with the care work she does as a mother and community activist; responding to the problems of care scarcity, from nursing shortages and long wait times to the perpetual exhaustion of parents, and tracing the social consequences of lifetimes measured by economic value, asking, “Why don’t we have time to care, and what might the world look like if we did?”, to Stephanie Sinclair at McClelland & Stewart, with Haley Cullingham editing, for publication in fall 2027, by Jackie Kaiser at Westwood Creative Artists.
